My French Broad Quilting Guild here in East Tennessee is making a Row by Row Quilt Too.

My Quilting Guild "The French Broads" are making our own Row Quilt This Year.  I've been having fun creating the blocks.  I got a slow start and am only finished a few blocks for each row.  I have been making 4 - 6 blocks for each row but have not joined my rows together yet.  I'm looking forward to making more rows.

My "Splendid Sampler" Blocks

Recently I've been Following "The Splendid Sampler" FB group that is making a 100 Block  Mystery Quilt "The Splendid Sampler".  Co-authored by Pat Sloan and Jane Shallala.  They release new blocks every Thursday and Sunday.. can't wait to see what today's Block will be.  Each block is created by a different artist using different techniques.  How fun!

Having joined the group a little late I have only completed 2 blocks # 41 & # 44.  I did download all the previous blocks so I can work on them at my leisure.

My "Sew South" & "Stitching in the Garden Blocks" Completed

Block # 44 "Stitching in the Garden" is an Embroidery and Applique Block.  I used my pigma pens to draw the block with a combination of raw edge applique and Embroidery.  I keep this block by my favorite chair just in case I want to add a bit more to it...

Block # 41 "Sew South" is my 1st attempt to do Hexi's.. I did enjoy this block and think  did a good job of it.

RxR block from "The Stitchery" is finished

Row by Row 2016
Home Grown & Sewn
The Stitchery - Rome Ga

My 1st Block is pieced together - from the Stitchery in Rome Ga.  I enjoyed working on this kit but the Star blocks at each end did not have enough of the proper size hst for the red star points so each block has one point cut from
the border print. the kit pieces came with fusible web backing Applique pieces and I did a blanket stitch n red around the Plate.
I placed several hearts over the States I have lived in. New York is my home State, Then I moved to Minnesota in 1986, Wisconsin in 2008 and Tennessee in 2014. I still need to finish doing an applique stitch around the US and quilting it after I decide if I will make a wall hanging or make it into a quilt.

2016 Row by Row Experience - my 2nd shop.

Yesterday I visited - Mom & Megg Quilt Shop in Dandridge TN.  my 1st "Row by Row 2016" quilt shop here in Tennessee. I't been oppressively hot & humid these past 2 weeks so yesterday I finally broke loose from the comfort of my air conditioned home to venture out.  I had breakfast at Perkins with my Dandridge knitPickers group and afterwards I decided to stop at the new quilt shop in town, "Mom & Megg" to see their block for the 2016 Row by Row.

My Goodies
I love their pattern "Home in Dandridge TN", how cute, they even have the teabag  tag with their name on it. I chatted for quite a while with Glenda I purchased the kit along with some other goodies.  I enjoyed chatting and looking around the shop.

They had a nice display of 30's fabrics and feed sack reproductions plus a book of applique blocks depicting children of the area dressed using feedsack material.  Check them out on FaceBook
