A Summer full of Friends, Family, Fun times and great Memories.....

A Summer full of Friends, Family, Fun times and great Memories.....

Wow! I have had a full summer.  2016 has been the year for family fun times... In May I went down to Georgia for 2 weeks to visit with my Daughters Nancy and Beth.  Beth had a week off and flew down to GA to check out the Pharmacy Schools in the area. I enjoyed visiting with Nan, Thomas & Zuri. Elizabeth and Zuri drove into Atlanta for a day of fun in the museums while Nan and I relaxed at home.  I was glad I was able to drive down to Nan's for Elizabeth's visit.  On the drive down I was able to stop by local Quilt Shop "The Stitchery" in Rome Ga. Below is some of the Goodies I picked up there.

I spent the month of June visiting with Nan, Thomas & Zuri and was there for both my Son Earl's visit for a week in Early June and my Son Paul's visit at the end of the month.  I was able to spend some quality time with my granddaughter Zuri.  She and I went to the Quilt Museum there in Carrolton to see their exhibits and She and I drove to Rome GA so I could participate in the Row by Row 2016 experience.

I had brought my sewing machine down with me and I was able to stitch up the RxR block while I was visiting and also worked on some other projects while I was there. I am almost done with this Block, Just have to layer and quilt it.  I plan on making it into a wall hanging.

2016 Row by Row Experience - my 2nd shop.

Yesterday I visited - Mom & Megg Quilt Shop in Dandridge TN.  my 1st "Row by Row 2016" quilt shop here in Tennessee. I't been oppressively hot & humid these past 2 weeks so yesterday I finally broke loose from the comfort of my air conditioned home to venture out.  I had breakfast at Perkins with my Dandridge knitPickers group and afterwards I decided to stop at the new quilt shop in town, "Mom & Megg" to see their block for the 2016 Row by Row.

My Goodies
I love their pattern "Home in Dandridge TN", how cute, they even have the teabag  tag with their name on it. I chatted for quite a while with Glenda I purchased the kit along with some other goodies.  I enjoyed chatting and looking around the shop.

They had a nice display of 30's fabrics and feed sack reproductions plus a book of applique blocks depicting children of the area dressed using feedsack material.  Check them out on FaceBook

Row by Row 2016 has begun!

This Runner was made for display by the Staff at the Stitchery

Row by Row 2016 has begun! Oh My!  It seems like I've been waiting for this a long time.  I visited my 1st Row x Row shop yesterday #1 - The Stitchery in Rome Ga.  I've been looking forward to driving up the Stitchery in Rome Ga from my daughter's home since I arrived for a visit early June.  My grand daughter Zuri accompanied me which made the visit so much fun.  Their wall displays of this years Row by Row panel was fabulous.  I liked the way they featured their panel in a wall hanging.  They also had a runner sewn for the event...Darn! no pattern was available for that.  Zuri and I got to place pins in their quilted US map, hers for Georgia and mine for Tennessee.  The staff were pleasant and made our visit enjoyable.

I got my free pattern and bought a RxR Kit to make that includes the 2016 license plate "HOME GROWN & SEWN". I also purchased a 2nd 2016 license plate to send to my friend Cheryl in Canada.  I picked up some fat 1/4's and triangular 3rds along with a 1/2 yard of green fabric to use in a project i'm working on.   I enjoyed looking at thier lovely fabric displays and I enjoyed the Row x Row wall hanging that featured thier 2016 Row by Row panel.

I had just visited here in May and took home a cute panel of Sewing ladies to make a sewing machine cover with along with last years license plate "I'M 1/4 INCH CRZY" which I just love and other material, some patterns and a gift baggie of a square of fabric and candy left over from the GA shop hop that I had missed.
